\r\nCOPENHAGEN, DENMARK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–May 22, 2003–JAI A-S, a leading manufacturer of machine vision products, announces the purchase of Sunnyvale, Calif.-based PULNiX America Inc., a supplier of machine vision components.“;“The purchase includes all shares of PULNiX, its intellectual property and camera technology as well as the regional sales and support offices in Japan and Australia.\r\n

\r\nThe acquisition will utilize the strong synergies with JAI’s existing high performance camera solutions as well as the ITS activities of JAI Systems division. It will extend the traditional position of JAI into a stronger position in North America and of PULNiX internationally. The synergies in technology by the united R&D forces promise to further strengthen JAI’s future competitive position.\r\n

\r\nPULNiX America will remain in Sunnyvale using the PULNiX brand as well as the JAI brand in parallel. Toshi Hori will remain as president and CEO of PULNiX.\r\n
