Micron Technology, Inc., Announces MT9V403 High-Speed Image Sensor

„Micron Technology, Inc., Announces MT9V403 High-Speed Image Sensor with TrueSNAP Freeze Frame Capability
\r\nBOISE, Idaho–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Nov. 13, 2003–Micron Technology, Inc., (NYSE:MU – News) today announced the availability of its new MT9V403 high-speed VGA image sensor, with True \“Shutter Node Active Pixel\“ (TrueSNAP(TM)) technology. The sensor is one of Micron’s fastest parts capable of up to 200 frames-per-second (fps) at full resolution — giving it one of the fastest frame-rates of any CMOS image sensor in its category.“;“Micron’s TrueSNAP proprietary technology features a freeze-frame electronic shutter that stops even the fastest motion with crystal clear accuracy. TrueSNAP technology was created for use in high-speed applications that allow for all pixels to be simultaneously exposed — similar to a CCD sensor’s \“global shutter\“.
\r\n
\r\nThe MT9V403 features a leading-edge digital interface that provides flexibility to control critical performance parameters such as exposure time, frame rate and windowing functionality. The sensor includes on-chip 10-bit analog-to-digital converters outputting monochrome or color digital video in 659H-by-494V-pixel format at 0-200 fps and a responsivity of 2,000 bits per lux second.
\r\n
\r\n\“Innovation is a priority for Micron’s overall growth,\“ remarked Bob Gove, Micron’s Vice President of Imaging. \“Our CMOS sensors are the first capable of true freeze frame action. It is this kind of innovation that will further our competitive advantage, and establish us as a leader in the field.\“
\r\n
\r\nCurrently the MT9V403 is designed for high-speed machine-vision and special effects applications. It is intended that the TrueSNAP technology developed specifically for the high-speed industrial user will eventually migrate to other Micron imaging devices.
\r\n
\r\nThe MT9V403 sensor is currently available through Micron sales representatives and distributors, worldwide. For more information, visit www.micron.com/imaging.
