Atmel —Introduction of New Line Scan Camera
„Atmel Targets the Most Demanding of Imaging Applications with Introduction of New Line Scan Camera
\r\n
\r\nAVIIVA M4 is a New Monochrome Line Scan Camera Ideal for Vision Applications Requiring High-Speed, High-Resolution and Performance\r\n
\r\n
\r\nGRENOBLE, France–(BUSINESS WIRE)–June 4, 2003– Atmel® Corporation (Nasdaq:ATML – News) announced today the availability of the AT71XM4CL, called the AVIIVA(TM) M4, a new member of the AVIIVA range of Line scan CCD Cameras, which already comprises the AVIIVA M2 (monochrome, two taps) and AVIIVA C2 (color, two taps). This addition to the fully complementary family of high-resolution cameras presents the vision systems designer with a full spectrum of camera solutions. Tailor made for the most demanding of applications, the AVIIVA M4 is targeted towards applications like parcel and postal sorting, document scanning and semiconductor inspection.“;“The AVIIVA M4 addresses these applications by taking advantage of features already present in the M2 such as extreme mechanical precision, improved spectral response and superior anti-blooming behavior. Plus, new with the M4, Atmel has increased speed and performance whilst providing 2 additional outputs; the integration of flat field correction and the provision of greater contrast expansion.\r\n
\r\n
\r\nThe AVIIVA M4 familly offers three different camera solutions. A high-speed, high-resolution version incorporates a 6k or 8k sensor with 7 micron square pixels, and four outputs delivering up to 160 MHz. In addition, further to the success of the AVIIVA M2 2k pixels 14 um, Atmel designed a faster model of this camera with four outputs at 30MHz per tap. Both versions deliver 8 or 10-bit output data and have common electro-optical performances like good vertical resolution, high sensitivity and excellent signal to noise ratio.\r\n
\r\n
\r\nThe AVIIVA M4 is easy to implement as it supports the Camera Link(TM) serial interface, that is increasingly used in the machine vision industry. With Camera Link, the system designer can access all data, synchronisation and total camera control with standard cable(s). Additional flexibility is offered to the end-user via programmable settings alongside features such as integration time, gain and offset selection and an external trigger enables multi-camera synchronization.\r\n
