\r\n——————————————————————————–\r\n
\r\nGöttingen/Munich, 07. November 2002. LINOS AG generated sales revenue of EUR\r\n
\r\n18.31 million in the third quarter of 2002, an increase of about 7% over the\r\n
\r\nprevious quarter. The EBIT were considerably better than in the previous quarter\r\n
\r\n (minus EUR 5.76 million) at about minus EUR 1.11 million. Order intake amounted\r\n
\r\n to EUR 20.03 million. This represents growth of about 54% compared with the\r\n
\r\nsame quarter the previous year. The upward trend has been confirmed by another\r\n
\r\nmajor order worth EUR 2.2 million that has been obtained in the current quarter\r\n
\r\nby the Health Care & Life Sciences business division.\r\n
\r\n\r\n
\r\n“;“According to the provisional quarterly figures, LINOS AG increased its sales\r\n
\r\nrevenue over the previous quarter by about 7% to EUR 18.31 million between July\r\n
\r\nto September 2002. This means that the highest sales revenue was achieved for a\r\n
\r\nyear in what continues to be a difficult economic environment.\r\n
\r\n\r\n
\r\nThe EBIT in the third quarter totalled minus EUR 1.11 million and were therefore\r\n
\r\n considerably better than in the previous quarter (minus EUR 5.76 million).\r\n
\r\nLINOS is expecting slightly positive EBIT for the fourth quarter.\r\n
\r\n\r\n
\r\nLINOS succeeded in increasing order intake again over the second quarter of the\r\n
\r\nfiscal year (EUR 19.72 million) in the third quarter (EUR 20.03 million). Growth\r\n
\r\n by comparison with the same period the previous year was as much as about 54%.\r\n
\r\nOrder intake therefore increased for the fourth time in succession and has now\r\n
\r\nalmost reached the high level of the first quarter of 2001 again. All in all,\r\n
\r\nthe provisional quarterly results are a cause for cautious optimism.\r\n
\r\n\r\n
\r\nThis cautious optimism is strengthened by the talks held with customers in\r\n
\r\nrecent weeks too. Following two large orders worth a total of EUR 4.6 million in\r\n
\r\n September in the Health Care & Life Sciences business division, we have now\r\n
\r\nobtained an individual order for EUR 2.2 million in the same business division.\r\n
\r\nThis order involves the delivery of camera and sensor technology for imaging\r\n
\r\ndiagnostics. The entire order volume is to be called off in 2003.\r\n
