Adept Technology Announces New Version of Machine Vision Software

(Nasdaq:ADTK – news), a leading manufacturer of flexible automation for the fiber optic, telecommunications and semiconductor industries, today announced the release of Adept HexSight 3.1 vision software, with improved performance and an expanded software toolbox. The geometric locator tool in the new version of the software runs up to twice as fast and at half the memory as the previous version, without compromising the robustness or accuracy, and the software now includes support for OCR (Optical Character Recognition), Data Matrix and Bar Code reading. The software now also supports cameras based on the IEEE 1394 protocol (FireWire), eliminating the need for frame grabbers.\r\n

This tool uses Adept Geometric Object Location, an advanced feature detection technology, to identify objects and patterns.
